It's because of my colour deficiency.

All I blamed is myself for not asking the doctor to slow down on the Ishihara Test during pre-employment check-up. I skipped 2 numbers when I can actually "see" them. The outcome is that my colour vision deems me unfit for the job. How cool is that?

Now that I am back in unemployment sector, I starts sending out resumes, ringing job agents to assist me in my job hunt, and somehow I got this feeling that my colour deficiency is obstructing me.

Of course I am choosy on my part, rejecting jobs that are too far or too "lowly-paid". I start to ponder what I really wants? Is it the money, or the job experiences that I can proudly put in my resume in the future. Am I going to work temporary or work full-time while pursuing ACCA part-time.

I looked at my fellow peers who are studying now, in local universities, private instuitions, or overseas colleges. They are whining on how difficult the assignments and exams were. Little they know there's people like me who would like to be in their shoes.

I looked at the remaining of my peers who are not studying. They found a job and is having a stable income, having buying power that I am currently lack of and I would need it desperately soon. This shaken me badly, and I lost focus on whether I want to work for money or for ideal.

This feeling sucks!

Journey of the 5 Headdresses

Pulled out the previous 2 blog posts regarding my NSF experiences. It's a similar feeling when I met the 91st recently and they were talking about their CoS and their potential NS PTI issues. I felt so lost. Now I am looking at Maju's PTIs' happy faces, I can feel my green horns growing out. Being able to work with comrades sharing similar background, and to joke and laugh over even the smallest issue it might be. I really envy my fellow course-mates.

I have never expect my NS route to be like a roller-coaster ride, or expect myself to OOC, twice. At every phrases of my NS life when I had adjusted myself, and beginning to "enjoy" and build bonds with people around me, I am forced to change my environment. It's hard to start afresh, when I am not very sociable by nature.

"Eh David, you have finally settled down," was what ZH said to me when I saw him coincidentally during Dental FFI.

That short comment, had made an impact within me.

Have I really settled down? Is CP MC where I "belong"? Or CP MC is simply an interchange, since I have to board the other train into the Civilian soon, very very soon.

I am afraid. I am scared that my CoS is either too empty, or too long. Empty because I have been floating around, or too long because of the detailed descriptions of where I have been to. Either way, I am ashamed of the route I have taken.

This roller-coaster ride has also made my ORD seems unreal. Fellow Medic course-mates are posted into individual units only recently and to ORD one year later, yet I am in the process of doing the out-processing. I really wonder if my NSF liability has come to an end.

I am tired. I have been thinking too much. I am making myself confused.

Though the (potential) answer is obvious, but "theory" is different from "practical".

Home, is where your heart is. Period.

Vexed

Bonds

It has been weeks since I last wrote a post.

I thought it's a good sign, since most of the time this space here is filled with my frustration and vengeance.

Life goes on as usual. Nothing can stop the world from spinning, Nobody can resist the flow of Time.

Meet up with Jac & LN, Ong and ZJ at Pitstop. It seems like yesterday to me since I last meet all of them, which is actually last year on LN 21st. Time flies indeed.

Ong and ZJ had ORD-ed for a few months already. Ong is going back to school, while ZJ started his degree programme in SIM RMIT and is now on assignment break.

Seeing them reminds me that I am going to be jobless in weeks to come. +1 on my worries.

It's a nice catch-up session, and it's supposed to be my virgin kite-flying experience but I postponed it because of the supposed bad weather, which never happened.

Met with Edmund and Kendrick for dinner. Edmund looked fairer and the recent lack of exercise seems to have put a little toll on his weight. Kendrick looks the same as I last saw him on his birthday party.

And I want to thank Edmund, Kendrick, Nicholas, Keith and Bennett for the gift. I was surprised when Kendrick took out the package and put it in front of me. Not used to celebrating birthday after all.

Another nice catch-up session with them, though "It" is still bothering me to some extent, but the smile on their face, the laughter that we shared, my mood has lighten and I haven't felt more cheerful since a long time.

Meeting two groups of close friends in a day, I would say it's tiring. Pretty rush here and there, but I am glad I met them today. It's frightening to remember collectively together the last time we gathered together.

Really enjoyed the moments of bonding and sharing. For people like me, who connect slowly, and disconnect at lightning speed, I am really relieved that my friends haven't forget about me.

The older we get, the lesser time we can spare for ourselves?

Got to attend more gatherings and organise more outings!

Friends, better turn up for gatherings, especially those organised by me!

Jackets

DFB TRACK TOP

PREDATOR STYLE UCL WOVEN JACKET

RESPONSE "DREI STREIFEN" WIND JACKET

Wisdom Extracted

Drop in Intelligence?

Jealousy & Greed

I am jealous of my peers.

The events they experienced. The bonds they forged. The life they led. It's all missing in my life currently.

I am jealous, very very jealous.

Am I not contented with my life? Am I not appreciating the people around me?

Actually, I don't think so.

I know I am uniquely me.I too been through life-altering events, lesson-learning events and etc.I too have my peers, old acquaint and new friendship. I enjoy simple pleasure at times. Yet I am jealous.

Digging deeper, I realised that it might not all jealousy weighing me down.

I am greedy.

I want to experience what others had experienced. Rushing from point to point is not my style. I guess I have to start to get used to it, before I make my Wednesday night a rush too.

I enjoy stay-in nights actually. Taking things slow and steady, though some of the activities were a waste of time. Now that the guys came back from SAF Parade, I feel that I should stay-in, to sort of bond with them. Furthermore, I am supposed to be on OJT with them, means no stay-out, but I slept at home due to convenience.

I am aware that my night schedule has render me unable to do most outfield duty or overnight cover. I don't feel easy because I know it's unfair, and I hope my colleagues can understand. Got to endure for 2 more months.

Now that I am frustrated simply over my busy nights, I can't imagine what's going to happen when I ORD! Speaking of which, I haven't clear my IPPT for second window!

It seems that CY and LY have resume their studies, using their leaves and offs. It's a smart move in my opinion, which I would do so if my NSF journey isn't so colourful. Since I can't undo what had happened, I shall suck my thumb and wait for the next intake, almost a year later. Actually, I don't have an idea what I really want to do. Yet another frustration.

And I can't imagine I actually consciously chose to skip Tri-Run this morning. I've set-up the alarm to wake up at 5, so that I can travel down to SengKang for my 21km run. However, I simple turn off the alarm and continue my sleep. Paid for the registration yet didn't run, not the first time, but it's the first for this year.

Also, I actually missed the time when I have to go down to help Bennett with moving. Not sure what he's moving, and though I didn't reply him that I am going to go down to help him. I simply missed the timing because I was playing Bloons! Haiz, I think this wisdom teeth extraction has caused me a drop in intelligence, now I can't prioritize properly.

This is a random post just to vent my frustration. Hopefully, this week can turn out well, though the start of the week would also mean the start of my existing frustration.

<img width='1' Though I admit that it's pretty steep for the registration fee due to poor scale of economy, but it brings out the simplicity of running.

Running is really a simple hobby, yet it is no longer just a hobby.

These gadgets look familiar right?

This sport has become so commercialised to an extent I think it's quite scary. Almost all runners nowadays own at least one of the above. (I admit I do own an MP3 player)

Increasing number of running events are being organised, rising registration fees, more goodies in the event pack are signs which prove that running is now seen as a profitable business.

That's why I avoid wearing event T-shirt when possible since it's like wearing a "constant reminder".

Pay to run?

I know I am doing the very thing I am saying but I am cutting back. I am determined not to become a consumer, but a runner.

Stuck

I'm so stuck in the SAF Day parade, but I managed to withdraw myself from marching contingent. My spine needs delicate care and I do not want to risk aggravating it.

Though the damage is not done to my spine, it hurts my posting. My posting is being held back due to SAF Day parade. This is the second time my posting is stuck due to parade, the first being AARM.

My OJT is being delayed, which means it clashes with my wisdom teeth extraction and my studies. What can I possibly do? It's not that I want to whine like a sissy but I am in no position to affect the decision made by the authority.

However, I will not backed down to this and change my appointment and postpone my studies. I had reasoned and appealed but it's not accepted. Just too bad!

After a EQ battle against authority, now it's EQ battle against "Nonsense". I don't want to label them as "Stupid" because it would mean that I am being complacency. But deep down I know I am.

David, be more humble, be more patient. You are now "alone" and you have to find other ways to vent your frustration. I am missing Sim already! />Experienced my virgin night marathon and I would say it's tougher than Standard Chartered's.

Being lazy to do LSD or interval, I did mostly leg strengthening and I think it actually helps! I experience only aching joints unlike previous marathon when I couldn't walk properly after the race. However, I feel that LSD is necessary to train mental endurance.

I would like to thank WeiSiang for the ride. He drove me to and fro the race venue. Really have to thank him for the additional mileage he have to drive because I left my champion chip at home! Lucky we decided to meet early.

Saw Sgt Jonathan, and I would have to say that he looks more meaty now. He look really thin back during my BMT.

Saw Terry but didn't approach him because I decided to head for the free ice-cream. But the ice-cream seems to give WeiSiang problem during the run.

The run is tough, I really wanted to throw the towel even before I hit 21km mark! I was sleepy and hungry, and soon succumb to "sleep-jogging" and progress to "sleep-walking". That really sucks! I started questioning myself why did I join the race which is so torturous and so expensive when I can sleep in peace at home.

I eventually decided to give up on the idea of finishing with a timing better than Standard Chartered, but thank goodness for the timely intervention of Danial and ZhiYong. They happened to spot me and pull me along to run with them.

It's really weird on how they managed to spot me because I was running topless and they were running behind with quite a distance away. ZhiYong said he recognized the shape of my lats, which really sounded gay!

Anyway, managed to catch-up with ZhiYong. It's been a long time since I talked to him. Really glad having to meet him.

ZhiYong decided to wait for Danial so I went on running to finish with a sub-6 timing. TA-DA! 5 hours 47 minutes! 3 minutes slower than my Standard Chartered timing but at least it's sub-6 timing.

With the end of Sundown, I regretted joining Standard Chartered. Another torturous 42km waiting at the end of year.

HELP!

Finally

I'm late by a year.

This promotion no longer holds its original value.

I was in a confused state of mind this week, especially during the rehearsal.

I was physically in CSS/EMT contingent, but my eyes were glancing to the AFC contingent and my mind was time-travelling back to a year back. Don't you simply love deadlift?

Anyway, I think the whole event is fairly well-organised. There's free photo-shoot, power-packed goodies pack and cute cheerleaders encouraging you as you scale the 63-storey high building. The baggage deposit system is quite different as you only deposit your belongings only when your wave is starting, hence cutting the possibility of having to stand in a long queue.

However, the registration booth should be made more prominent, and nearer to the baggage deposit. I don't know why must the two booths be so far apart. Not being able to bring camera up to the finishing point sort of defeats the purpose of opening up the rooftop isn't it?

Beside the event, I think it's a concept adopted by NTU Sports Club, there's always a mini carnival held with their main event. I think it's quite fun, with mini basketball, robotic bull-riding and other booths for you to visit. Or else the whole event would be very fast since one can complete the event within half an hour.

As for me, I went to visit the free spinal screening and I might have the answer to my chronic neck strain. With 3 months left to ORD, I think I should act fast to get my spine re-align before I burn my own pocket. This time, I am going back to the very camp I miss so bad.

Yes, I have completed EMT Spec2 course!

Wanted to blog about my experiences in the course, but I wanted to keep my admission to the course as low profile as possible. Just in case something happens, Murphy's law. Also, blogging about the course would remind me how I pen my experiences when I was in the course, which I would choose not to walk down that memory lane if I can help it.

Back on the course, I have met new people, gained new knowledge, and tried jobs that I never imagine I would do. My NS life got more interesting and colorful in a different way. Like what I told Shar, I seems to be scraping as many goodies as I can from SAF.

However, I am not proud. Why? What would you think of someone who only got his 3rd SGT rank after 1 year and 9 months of training? The norm is 7 to 8 months, which means this late "bloomer" here is really slow because he is lagged by 1 year!

Furthermore, he first went into a course which most NSFs would like to go to. This fellow went through full 14 weeks yet couldn't pass-out because he is not fit enough. Great!

After 2 weeks extension, he got himself injured, thus officially OOC-ed. Alright!

After that he went to ASLC but got OOC-ed due to chronic back strain. Wow!

After months of waiting due to slow processing in SAF, he finally got posted out to Medic Spec course and completed it. It's been 1 year and 4 months after his BSLC.

This fellow is weak! I agreed with myself even if there's objection who say he is not.

Meanwhile. some of my peers have achieved much more, and it makes me jealous. Golden Bayonet, or Silver Bayonet. Got promoted to 2nd SGT. Received the Best Soldier Award.

You may think that these titles are insignificant, but I don't have the chance to even get close to getting those titles. This fellow has difficulties pass-out from course(s).

Alright, enough of confidence-demoralising statements. Just want to rant it out because I felt so shameful, felt so lagged behind, felt so useless.

I am just a pathetic fellow who got shamed by his own ego.

Tried Swimming

1KM: 00:29:38.450

The fastest time clocked for my category is 00:16:07.850. Perhaps, I have enough of myself being mindful of what others are thinking and saying. I am tired of all these issues and I wish all this "nonsense" would stop.

I know I sound weak saying this but I think human relationships in BFSC were much simple. As compared to BFSC, the course-mates in EMT Spec are much more complicated.

Just recently, Kendrick tagged me in some course photos on Facebook. Initially, I felt disgusted after looking at those photos. I am ashamed of who I am, of my current state and status. However, after comments started flowing, I start to think that it might be me all along who sink the boat.

Why am I trying to deny myself the memories of one of the happiest days in my life?! My ego has been affecting me all along. My inner wall was never demolished.

Coming back to my current state, I feel that there are people who are genuinely doing their best but got branded. While, I thought some of the people are sincere but now I feel the opposite, especially after this one incident.

My Mum was right about me after all. My thinking has all along been too simple, that I didn't even know until I hurt myself. I thought my beliefs are right, but my recent experiences seem to have prove mysef wrong.

I am really tired and disillusioned, so much so that I think everybody are plotting something. Luckily, the course is coming to an end. Maybe I can see the true colours after everyone sets on their own path and Time can reveal the truth.

Meanwhile, the experiences I gained in this course make me miss BFSC even more. At least I think everything was a lot more simple, and we enjoyed it from the bottom of our heart.

The Incident I Did Not Stand Up For My Mother

This incident happened when I was 8 or 9 years old, when I was still studying primary school.

Given my young age back then, my Mum always accompany me to school due to safety reason. Given my height barely reaching her axillary line, thus not able to hold her hand properly, I will always curl my arm onto her arm while she will carry my bag on her back and an umbrella on the other hand.

During the short 10 minutes journey, we will talk about everything under the Sun. I will share my thoughts about everything I could think of, and she would listen patiently to what I have to say. Those days were nostalgic.

Then, on a fine day, my Mum was bringing me to school and I curled my arm onto her's, just like the usual, this madam stepped in.

This madam I mention is the mother of one of my friends, and is branded as being "very rude" by my Mum, for she likes to address people she knows with their full Chinese name, including the surname. She was walking on the same path but in opposite direction. Being a friendly neighbors, my Mum stopped her steps and started a small chat with her. This small chat changes everything.

Being under the sun and I am not in school yet, my Mum had to cut the conversation and send me off to school. This madam then made a comment about how "big" I was and yet still curl my arm onto my Mum's like a "little toddler". Upon hearing this, I released my arm and put it down to the side like a little soldier in attention.

I didn't notice the expression of my Mum's back then, but I think it must be quite hurting, because since that comment onwards, I have never curl my arm onto her's anymore.

A simple comment changes everything. No more curling. No more sharing of thoughts. Just because of a comment that threatened my little ego, the simple act was abandoned.

Sorry Mum, I didn't stand up for you because I had to protect that little ego.

Why am I bringing up this incident? Because we curled our arm together, after the dinner treat for my Mum. However this time, she curled her arm onto mine, and she said how we curled our arms together before and how I will curl my arm onto other girls next time.

Clearly she is enjoying this simple act of bonding, and how she wants to hold it longer before my arm slips away, again. But I would like to say this, my arm will not slip away, because both of us miss each other, miss this simple act of curling, miss the close bonding we shared.

I love you Mum.

Happy Mother's Day

Politics

As long as there's living creatures, there's bound to have some sort of politics.

I chose not to believe that, but I am now, wittingly or unwittingly, playing this never-ending game.

Once you get down the ass-poking fence, you can never climb up.

Having common enemies helps to bond people. Be it sharing common goals, or distracting us from the situation. It seems to make individuals feel stronger through each other's support.

Or it can be put up a thick make-up, wearing colorful clothings, and act, script, and direct your own short film, for personal motive(s). Keep up the effort, and you will find everything fall into the right place.

I know you are worry about what the future holds for you. I know you are afraid of making the wrong choice, but you might find yourself worrying too much.

If everything remain unchanged, you will find your best friend in a year time while you will not notice it. You will fall in love but it will not work out, like totally. You will find yourself with fun-loving people and do treasure them, because you need them.

Sorry to disappoint, but your height limit would be capped at 1.63m, but drinking milk is still important. You will not get into Archery team unless you take extra precaution on the day of selection.

Playing DotA might helps with your social life but hurts your academic results and your precious sleep (which might be a contributing factor why you are only slightly taller than average). If you think your basketball skill can improve over time, maybe you can consider dropping the idea. Accept it, we have no ball sense.

Start to watch Mum's diet, and do not let her slack off in exercising. Doing so might get Mum pissed but you won't get allowance from her soon anyway. The trade-off is worth it.

With these information, my guess is that you will worry even more, but trust yourself. Writing it down brings back the memories a year ago. Those indelible experiences.

Some parts within me just couldn't let go.

Completed my medical centre attachment in Maju. A fairly good experience I would say, could be busier, provided I get myself more familiar with how the place works.

Went back to FCC just to take a look and use the gym.

Saw some of them, but they did not recognised me. I thought it's better this way, I did not approach them either, except for Kelvin who I meet head-on.

Pardon me for being self-denial for I am ashamed of who I am, what I have become.

Pardon me for the fake smiles, I am trying to assuage the uneasiness.

Pardon me for doing all these, so that I can preserve the affable image of the old me.

And now, allow me to drop the mask.

Singing high pitch is not my forth.

Happy

Sometimes, you will feel happy when people around are happy.

Chronic Neck Strain

Lucky it's not spinal injury, but the pain do bother me. />

Been trying to update this space since last week but I got distracted, for the good cause I guess.

My first running event for the year is over!

I would say that this event is quite poorly organised despite being a annual event.

Firstly, I registered last year yet my registration actually didn't reach NTU but the fee is deducted. Lucky, I found out about this problem in time and I managed to participate.

Secondly, the main event seems like a side event since the side event received more attention.

Thirdly, the distance seems to be inaccurate. 400m surf route seems too short, the same goes to running route as well.

Lastly, the event singlet is kind of disappointing. The design is alright, and I was expecting red or yellow. The NTU's organisers and helpers are all wearing it but it came out to be light blue! Quite put-off by it.

As for my performance, I did poorly for the event. Perhaps it's due to 2 long months of not running more than 4km. It's high time to clear the dust off my K15.

Surfed & Sweated.

Now considering whether to join National Vertical Marathon.

Start of Febuary

Acknowledge the situation, and the passion is ignited.

Got to do major catch-up work while the fire is still burning.

Ciaoz!

End of January

It was the start of 2010 4 weeks ago.

Now, it's the end of the first month.

What have I accomplished in January? Sadly, I have to share the bookshelf with my brother due to space constrain. So, I really hope I can have my own room when I move so I can have a proper bookshelf to my own!

With new addition of books from the Expo Book Fair, I need space to store them, but it can never be enough. Thus, the main aim of the cleaning is to re-arrange the books to allocate space for more. Hopefully, this arrangement can last till I move.

What I like best about cleaning the bookshelf is that I sort out my thoughts concurrently (Maybe that is why I clean the bookshelf often). I have been thinking about quite a number of issues on hand, and I got pretty stressed up. For those who are concerned, I am getting better already!

Hope this feeling of euphoria can last till New Year!

Boring At Home

Boredom forces me to think.

Plan for my remaining months of NS. type='text'>To Become A Better Person

I finally realised that the year is coming to an end with Christmas just round the corner. Time really flies, too fast for me to catch up.

What have I been doing for the past 12 months? It's not too hard for me to recall since I blogged regularly weekly.

But, I did nothing constructive, nothing meaningful, but to keep lingering with past events and regret my choices. I did not become closer to my folks, and I has disappoint my Mum. I did not make effort to mend the strained relationship with my Bro. I made new friends, weakly bonded, and neglected old pals.

I remembered I had plans, the actual Ops Order and contingency plan(s). But are they useful? Did the plan(s) went well? Did I review what went wrong, how did that happen, who am I answerable to, what can I do to savage the situation(s)? Haven't I learnt that in practice, nothing goes according to the plan. Better drill that in.

Till now, I have to admit that I am still lost, not knowing what to do. I have limited chips on hand, and I am not using it wisely. What is stopping me? Do I have a dream? Or I am always living in fantasy?

Life has been pushing me around, setting walls to block me, to stop me. So far the walls are managable, less one or two, but it's going to be harder. I need to become stronger, I need to become smarter. I need plans, which I had some in my head, but will it work out well, do I have the discipline? What do I need to do?

"Keen ambition, banishes pleasure, from youth onwards, and reigns alone" - Vauvenargues

It's time for me to choose.

And I have decided to wake up.

Troubled

Tell me why did I decide to pick up driving? Thinking that I am late already, I left the house in a hurry, leaving camera behind, so there's no photos. Sad.

The race is good for the first half (21km) with a timing of 2 hours 30 minutes. Thought it's pretty decent for me, given my usual running speed and have not cover mileage beyond 18km before.

The pace took a downward spiral after I walk for the first time. Well, it's recovery right? But, I lost the momentum to run and my timing starts to suffer. I clocked 4 hours for 30km. That sucks!

Then, both legs started to cramp and I nearly had a great fall. It's my first time experiencing with cramps and I have no idea how to nurse it, so I just carry on walking slowly.

The cramps continue to haunt me all the way till Finishing Point and I almost threw in the towel! Haha, was at the 30++km mark where I started to think, seriously, why did I join the race?

It's also quite funny when the Volunteer came to me, when I was less than 1km to Finishing Point, if I need to fall-out to nurse my cramps. I was dumbfounded by her kind intention and rejected her gently while pointing to the Finishing. Was my cramps looked that bad?

Anyway, by the time I limped pass the Finishing, the clock was at 5 hours 59 minutes. So, I somewhat achieved what I am aiming for, completing the race and clock sub-6 timing. I was hoping for 5 hours 30 minutes after I observed my timing at 21km mark, but...

It was a decent race, though the baggage deposit has much to improve? I don't understand why they want to categorise by colours anyway?

Now, nursing my nasty blisters and aching legs, I hope I can walk by Tuesday.

Quoting KeeChong, nothing is harder than CPFT. Dude, I guess you are right.

Contradiction

I was chatting with Ed over MSN on random stuff and he talks about the latest AFC Cohesion Day, filling me up with some details. The conversation went on and he mentioned Sha.

Of course, he would have met Sha, who is now posted back to AFC for his rest of his NS term, and he is loving it. (McDonald's attitude)

Ed commented on how Sha seems unwilling to connect with the 91st.

However, it's a different story I heard from Sha, on how the 91st bonds with their own FCC group, and how weird it is to meet fellow coursemates again when the last cohesion day should be the last.

I understand Ed's eagerness to connect with a "long-lost" friend. I also understand Sha's feeling towards meeting his fellow comrades. Once again, I am on the fence trying to make sense of the whole situation from different perspectives.

Surely, I would like to meet "long-lost" friends again, catching up face-to-face rather than relying on virtual networking. Concurrently, the "course failure" fact flash into the mind and remind myself why and what am I to meet them?

After hearding numerous "Get over it" comments, I really appreciate it but it can't be helped to have such mindset. It's undeniable that the invisible wall had already been formed and it is not going to come down so easy like Berlin Wall. (P.S. Tearing down Berlin Wall is in fact a difficult task)

It seems that it's our (course failure) "fault" for having this mindset. But, is it really our "fault"?

When we "overcome" the wall on some occasions, we find the fellow comrades with their new camps. Well, you wanted some interactions and here I am ready yet you are nowhere to be seen.

Or, we are on different frequency now and the conversation is hardly sustainable, then you walk away thinking why can't we seems to "click" anymore. Then, you conclude that it's us who don't want to "click".

Sometimes, having experienced either unintentional offensive conversation or pure malicious talks, it is not that we don't want to mix around. Once bitten, twice shy. We need no ego-buster, thank you very much.

Now, with these mini scenarios taking place simultaneously, it's little wonder why in the same meet-up, there's different camp of thoughts and feelings.

It's not that I am supportive of Sha's perspective but I am in fact in the same zone with him. However, understand that the only constant is Change. We might have changed, but understand that you too, have changed. We do not complain loudly when you are trying to connect, only half-heartedly. Don't deny, we can sense the desperateness. But, we understand.

We are friends, but we are of different league.

If it ain’t broken (perhaps, yet), don’t fix it.

If you go around fixing things that aren’t broken (perhaps yet), you’re going to break things.

Swissotel Vertical Marathon

My first vertical marathon, a 72-storey challenge.

Free Red Bull!

72-storey monster.

Waiting for Flag-off.

Finishing lap.

Finishing point! It's my first time to Genting and I hope it is going to be a pleasant trip. But the 6 hours journey there and another 6 hours back start to worry me now.

Thank goodness that I managed to solved the Passport issue. Apparently, Malaysia accepts only Passport with minimum 6 months to expiry and mine is 3. So I have to rush down to ICA to get it extended. Actually, I don't really care if it doesn't get extended, then I can go back camp and continue my exercise regime.

I know it seems weird that I am "attached" to camp, but who will reject free access to gym, free entry to clean swimming pool, a bunch of people who are willing to play chess with you and free newspaper to read? Furthermore, posting order is near and it might be my last chance saying "Goodbye!" to my fellow OOC friends. Plus, I am lazy to travel and you want me to spend 12 hours of the getaway on transportation?

I guess it's not really up to my choice not to go now. I just wish it is going to be a safe journey.

One week break from weights training, swimming and etc doesn't sound appealling in any ways.

Imminent

Peace returns to the Guardroom after the Closing of AARM.

With SSM going on vacation, the OOCs clearing their off-in-lieu, and ASLC flew to Taiwan for their training, I felt a sense of relief as I can adopt my past routine.

However, news of Posting Orders came and disturb the rare serenity. Fellow OOCs started leaving while the new OOCs coming in to replace the beds. Meanwhile, some went and passed their FFI and would be going for their ASLC recourse. These events have affect the atmosphere within the Guardroom.

Sha is posted back to AFC as ASA in Store. As he proudly declared his love and belonging in AFC, PLC, it makes me wonder when will it be my turn?

I wouldn't bear to leave PLC, a place where 10 months, going 11, of my National Service is done. Then, I will go to book my driving practical test date. In the afternoon, I will be home to fill up my FIC attachment forms and to find information on Lifesaver courses. After that, I would move out to Maju for my attachment and then book-in to PLC.

However, I woke up late in the morning, and there goes my 19km run at ECP. Following that, more prostatinating thoughts set in and I almost wasted my day.

In the end, I only managed to finish typing my FIC attachment forms. That's what I get after polishing a tub of Ben&Jerry Chocolate Fudge an hour ago.

It was truly pure pleasant when I was in it, and a real ass-kicking guilt kicks in after staring blankly at the empty tub while biting the cold spoon. Making matter worse, I ate a durian dessert and a mango dessert at JP after book-out! Too much pleasure food for me, and I am feeling sick right now!

Anyway, last Sunday was my second SCM training at ECP. It was almost 15km run and I felt improvement, or perhaps the first session was a bad run to begin with. I clocked a timing of slightly under 2 hours. I know I'm going turtle slow but I guess it's a good run for me already.

This coming week, I am going for 17km, and if it's possible, I' m going to make it 19km. Other factors include late transport, bumpy rides and NO (EXTRA) FOOD!

I am always hungry. *Hehe*

Being involved in AARM also means that I get to meet the FSs from various FCCs, and I am so not excited to see them.

It might be rude for me to say this, but ever since the encounter at BFCC, nothing really matters. I have been denying what Sha said was right and defend what I believed, yet it seems that it's true after all. We are in different league, period.

We are still friends, we can contact each other, meet up with each other. Utlimately, we are in different league, our lifes had crossed a few months ago and that's all.

I do look forward to meeting them, then after meeting I can hardly be glad. I will be unhappy to treat them as mere strangers, but at least I am slightly happier that way. *Sigh* Why must Sha be right?

Back to the flag issue, Monday is the actual event and let's hope that I don't make any mistake.

And after flag raising, there's flag lowering...

Aching

My cheeks ached when I smile.

That's why I don't smile.

Now, my jaw feeling sore.

So I can't afford to frown?

Hmnn...

Morning Run, SCM Training

Went to ECP for my first self-conducted SCM training in the morning.

Fine weather, but it's kinda warm due to rising sun. With that, there will not be enough "client" to go around during the weekends.

So, we are strongly recommended to do our attachment on weekdays instead. However, I can't do my attachment at BFCC on weekdays mainly due to location problem, PLC is in the West while BFCC is in the East. Just too bad!

Have to thank people like Warrant Bala, Staff Yap, Calvin, Guo Ming and WenJie to help facilitate us to initialise our FIC attachment. So far I have enjoyed and learnt my fair share at Bedok and perhaps it's good to leave afterall.

For people who despise me for trying hard to get my FIC even though I am not a qualified FS, you did hurt my feelings but I am not giving up. Burning 3-4 hours of our "precious" book-out days for the upcoming weeks until November is no joke. Ironically, most of the 91st FS don't seems to give a hoot about it. Strange isn't it.

Actually the answer is simple. We are fighting, pathetically, for some "title" that we wanted but didn't managed to get it. Yes, it's the FS vocation.Getting FIC certification make us feel that we are closer to being a FS. Pathetic struggle isn't it? I call it "The Loser Mentality".

We laughed at the answer we gotten, but we pondered deeply. Does not being FS really matters?

To me, it used to matter a lot. Yes, it used to. I used to feel unexplained pain when I see my fellow BFSC coursemates. I feel angry to everyone and myself. I tasted the bitterness of failure and the inability to savage the situation. It's either Time that dilute those sensation or I am getting numb.

I heard complains from the 91st FS, about their job and their difficulties. Some envy me having the time to gym, to swim, to run, to do plan my time. So, who should be the one green with envy? The FS (Fitness Specialist) or the PTI (Paid to Idle)?

I am getting a little emotional. But after the experiences I got over the past months, I am contented, with what I am now, with what I am doing now.

Maybe, I am actually the lucky one?

Mizuno Wave Run 2009

After missing running events that I registered and paid for yet didn't participant, I went for Mizuno Wave Run 2009!

It's a 10 mile run.
